Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination is a basic science and research institution of state plant variety rights protection system and is under control of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine.

Priority areas of Institute research are:

• implementation of functions in plant variety rights protection sphere;
• conducting of state scientific-technical plant variety examination, as intellectual property objects;
• participation in conducting of scientific-technical, technological and innovation policy, scientific achievements and forward experience in industrial production sphere implementation, plant variety rights protection and dissemination of them in Ukraine;
• realization of scientific and research works in intellectual property on plant varieties sphere, etc.
