In order to select a sources of economic-useful traits for further breeding work in the harsh conditions of 2012-2013, in Aktobe Agricultural Experimental Station there was studied the gene pool of chickpeas: in 2012 – 140 accessions from 26 countries, in 2013 – 167 accessions from 32 countries. Сharacteristic is presented of the accessions selected for earliness, plant height, height of the lower bean attachment, the number of beans and grains, grain weight from 1 plant, weight of 1000 seeds, yield capacity.
