Registration of plant gene pool collections and samples is carried out by the National Centre of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine (NCPGRU), which operates as part of the Plant Production Institute nd. a. V.Ya.Yuryev, on behalf of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine in accordance with the Regulations on the registration of collections and samples of plant genetic resources and have the objectives of enhancing the formation of the base, trait, genetic and other types of collections, creation and finding sources and donors of valuable traits, ensuring their active use in plant breeding and research programs and secure storage. On 05/01/16, 227 collections including 109,464 accessions and 1485 valuable samples of plant gene pool are registered in the NCPGRU.
