The collection consists of 1123 pea gene pool accessions from 42 countries and 831 chickpea accessions from 44 countries, the largest accessions number from Ukraine: 202 and 278 respectively. The results of the study are presented on the areas of research, enrichment and conservation of the genetic diversity of peas and chickpeas, selection of sources and donors of basic economic characteristics and biological properties. There are registered trait collection of chickpea which consists of 132 samples originating from 26 countries; trait collection of grain and vegetable pea comprising 132 samples from 13 countries. The gene pool of the collection is used in breeding, theoretical and applied researches, in educational programs, institutions for varieties examination.
